Bromine, like chlorine, is a general protoplasmic poison. On the mucosa of the respiratory tract it has a violently irritating action leading to laryngeal spasms, formation of pseudo - membranous exudates, and possibly acute pulmonary edema. The hale and hearty child, all of a sudden, turns blue in the face, and his body is thrown into violent convulsions due to the spasm of the glottis. Brom. works like a charm in such cases. It relieves the spasm and prevents the repetition of such occurrence." (Choudhuri)

Bromium

One of the best parts of going to Greece was getting to meet all of the people from the stories. You know, all the stories that George tells? It is sort of like meeting the Wizard of Oz or something, or meeting somebody from one of your favorite childhood stories in person. You remember the story about Bromine? Anyway, you remember it was a little girl that was very aggressive, that had tremendous glands. It was worse in the summer. It came on in the summer, and the glands had no tendency to suppurate? That’s Bromine. I met that little girl. She is still very aggressive, but she doesn’t have glands any longer. Remember it for the glands. Remember it for the summer complaints, summer colds. It’s worse from heat. Just remember one other characteristic keynote. And I have confirmed that this actually does happen. It’s not just a myth from the repertory. Asthma of sailors when they leave the sea, when they go away from the sea.
