- Often like to polish things (cars, trophies, etc.)

3. Pain in small spots.

4. Chilly.

5. Thick, tough, stringy discharges; the more acute, the more yellow; the more chronic, the more white.

DIFFERENTIALS

Kali Bichromicum

Now, Bichromicum, you know George’s main word for Kali Bichromicum? Gluey. I like that. Gluey, like glue. Something sticky about them. It’s not just the discharges, it’s their personality as well. So, the kind of person with this properness that we talked about with the Kalis, the down-to-earth, conservative type. This is the one that carries it a little bit further and so they want to give you details about things. They love details. They are the perfect bureaucrats. OK? And they want to explain things, like it’s down in the lobby. "Oh, it’s down in the lobby. Where is the lobby? " "The lobby. Ok. To get to the lobby, you go out here. You see those elevators out there? You go out there and you go to the elevator. You push the button. The elevator comes. You get into the elevator. You wait until the door closes." "OK, I know how to get into an elevator. Which floor is it on? " "Wait a minute. So, you get in and you have to wait until the door closes, and when the door closes, then you push the one that says L, not the one that says #2, because if you push #2, then you’ll get off on the second floor, and you’ll have to stop." That kind of detail that they want to give you. Over and over and it’s this glueyness that you can’t push them ahead. Stuck, the same way they get stuck in their mucus. If you have ever had a Kali Bichromicum cold or something, you blow your nose, you wipe it with the Kleenex and then there is a string. Whenever you wipe your nose it’s the end of the Kleenex. You don’t go in the middle of the Kleenex, you go to the end and you wipe it and then there’s this string. You can get totally tangled up in it. That’s the same way they are in their explanations. You can hardly get out of it. They have sort of an immature attitude. They want to do everything by the books. So, Kali Carbonicum is a different type. But they are hard working. They are direct. Moralistic. They want to do things in a conservative way because they want to do the right thing. But Bichromicum is a little bit more immature. They want to do the expected thing. So, they are the ultimate conformists. They want to do everything according to the book. According to the rules and the regulations. There is something much narrower about Kali Bichromicum. It’s a narrower kind of personality and there is sort of squeamishness about them. They want things in routines. I had a case of a sinusitis in Greece with George. It was a guy whose wife had gone through surgery and she went into a Sepia state and she had an absolute aversion for sex. They were married and he wanted everything, you know, "We have sex two times a week." That’s the Kali Bichromicum. Everything sort of the anal retentive type. Everything just exactly the way it should be. You know, "I want my things this way." Even the way they talk, because they have the sinusitis and the way they talk there is a kind of a something. I don’t know if I can convey the impression. Anyway, they talk in a very nasal way and with an immaturity and it gives a certain impression. You have known that kind of person that is sort of talking through their nose and there is sort of a person that wants everything just. So this guy wanted everything straight forward. So George said, ‘"So your wife has an aversion to sex. She doesn’t care, go out and find a girlfriend." He said, "No, no, that’s not right." He wants sex. He wants it this way. He wants it the proper way. He wants everything according to the books. If reality won’t conform to that, they get pouty and irritable and so forth. Routine kind of people, not ritualistic, but routine. Wants sex twice a week, like I say every Monday and every Friday they want it. If it is Tuesday and Saturday, then it’s Kali Fluoricum, but if it’s Monday... They don’t really have a sense of how ridiculous they are when they go through these big long explanations and they also can say things like the wife is sitting right there, and they are in a group and they can say things like, "But she doesn’t love me as much as I love her." Dead serious. They say this in the middle of a social conversation. It’s that sort of childishness, that kind of immaturity. They’re definitely self-patronizing. They are the kind of person I read an article in the newspaper about at a McDonald’s there was this manager and somebody was having a heart attack in the McDonald’s. The employee went and asked, "Call the ambulance." The employee wanted to call the ambulance and went towards the phone and the manager said, "No, I don’t think so, because it’s not written in the books that we are supposed to do that and I think that they have to go and call by themselves." That kind of rigidity and narrowness of thinking. Just to follow the rules. Conformists.

They are very interested in security and material comfort and that sort of thing, so they want to do things according to the rules so that they can insure that they are going to get their comforts. That’s why I say they are conformists. They are not going to be the revolutionaries that take a strong stand on the job. Kail Carbonicum can take a tremendous stand just on the basis of morale what’s right. Bichromicum doesn’t have that kind of strength of character. Playing it by the book. Know what side the bread is buttered on. They can get quite irritated with other people, who are subordinates to them if they don’t play it by the book, and in this case I was telling you about, this manager fired the employee who went across the street and called on another phone to get an ambulance there. He fired this employee. The employee sued the company and was reinstated to the job, and the manager lost his job or something. You know boot lickers? That kind of person. They want to get on your good side when they think that you can help them. But don’t come calling on them if you get in trouble because they are not interested then. They are fairly selfish, self-occupied. They are not terribly social. They don’t want to go out and do things, be with people. They are just mostly interested in their little existence and that can be carried into becoming in the end stages in some cases really misanthropic and aversion to company and so forth. A gloomy state. You won’t mostly get to Kali Bichromicum through the mental states. Most of the time you will make the prescription on the basis of the physical pathology, and the physical pathology is mostly sinusitis. Kali Bichromicum is almost a specific for sinusitis, especially if it’s maxillary sinusitis, and you almost have to prove that it is not Kali Bichromicum if it’s a long standing chronic real sinusitis condition, especially if there is mucus in strings. What is the other remedy we said had that? Hydrastis. 70%, George estimates, of maxillary sinusitises are going to be Kali Bichromicum. Another 30% of the frontal sinusitises. They have a sensation deep in the nose of pressure in the nose or in the sinuses, a lot of fullness and pressure there with a thick nasal discharge that ameliorates the headache or the pain once it becomes fluent. When you are having all these physical symptoms, the mental symptoms that we have talked about, this personality state is not there. It has not progressed into that personality state a lot of times. Sometimes it can, but sometimes it will just be the physicals and none of this per disorder. The mucus is usually thick, green or yellow green, stringy, but it doesn’t have to be in strings. It can just be the thick thing and sometimes it can dry out and make crusts that are very hard to detach and if they try, if they really pick at them and detach them, it may cause bleeding. There is a keynote symptom of a sensation of a hair on the tongue which is also Silica. The tongue is usually red and shiny. Smooth tongue. The other remedy that is listed for red shiny tongue, smooth tongue is Terebinthina. That is a very small remedy.

Now, there is usually an aggravation from beer and from meat. They can have diarrhea from beer, like Sulphur. They had headaches in spots. Spot like, you can cover it with one finger. They can point to it and cover it with one finger. Or pains anywhere that are in spots. Kali Bichromicum is the main remedy for that. Pain in just one spot.

It is a big remedy for arthritis and it has a wandering type of arthritis where the arthritis goes from joint to joint to joint. You remember the remedy we said that has arthritis that swells up in one joint? Then that joint disappears and then suddenly it swells up in another joint? Berberis has another kind of wandering kind of arthritis. Not that fast. That is Formica Ruta, the red ant. Also Pulsatilla and Berberis have wandering arthritis. Diarrhea from suppressed arthritis. They have sciatica, especially sciatica better from warmth and especially they have p in the coccyx from any pressure, so it is worse from sitting, it’s worse after sex and it can be worse before urination. Pain in the coccyx. That’s probably the first remedy to think of. If it is from an injury, think of Hypericum. Those are the main things. Mostly in the physical things, you’ll get it either from asthma, from the sinusitis or from arthritis. Those will be mostly the conditions.
