One
of the greatest misconceptions about the action of the homeopathic
medicines is that they are ‘SLOW’. This is the result of enormous
ignorance of this science. I had mentioned in my earlier write up that
even with a chronic background a threatening condition can arise once in
a while. If a person is not cured immediately of a threat, no system of
medicine can survive nor it has any use to humanity. But palliation and
suppression is not the concept of homeopathy. So is any medication for
acting against nature. Need based suppression of the menstruation,
termination of pregnancy and so-called control of individual symptoms
such as diabetes, blood pressure are not relevant in the terminology of
treatment. I will illustrate the FASTER THAN
MAGIC action of the homeopathic remedies in certain conditions,
which will enlighten and remove the misconceptions.
I was watering the
plants in my garden standing next to the rusted steel pump-motor
enclosure. In one of my sudden movements the sharp corner of the
enclosure lid cut into my knee cap causing a wound about two inches wide
and deep enough to touch the knee- cap bone. I did not feel any pain but
it was bleeding profusely. I turned the hose on it to wash off the
gushing blood. I came in and my wife
was so excited that she wanted me to rush and get some stitches
done to stop the bleeding. I told her to calm herself and give me a dose
of Arnica 1M immediately. I also shot an assurance that as soon as the
medicine touches my tongue there would not be more than three drops of
blood. The bleeding stopped instantaneously as soon as the pills touched
my tongue and indeed, there were no more than a couple of droplets of
blood thereafter. This is how homeopathy works in certain conditions.
Next day, I took a dose of Hypericum 200. This drug is the real
‘anti-tetanus’ of homeopathy. The
wound slowly healed in a week.
Let us look at
another instance. A distant relative aged about thirty had come to
Bombay for business and was staying in a hotel. At midnight he developed
intense pain on the left side at the lower abdominal region. He came
home and woke me up at about 2 a.m. He was wailing continuously was very
restless. He could not sit in any position. I noticed that he was very
thirsty and would take a gulp of water each time, but would have another
gulp three or four minutes later. That was what was needed for
homeopathic prescription. A single dose of Arsenic 200 put him to sleep
in five minutes, around 4 a.m. At 6 o’ clock, he was still sleeping
like a log. When I put my child into the school bus and returned at 7
a.m he was merrily chatting away and told me that I had done some magic
to remove his misery. He finished his work and left Bombay after 3 days.
