The theme with Nickel is CONTROL and HIDING so you get a FALSE impression of the real feelings that are going on.

Copper miners called is "false ore" and gave it its name Nickel/Devil (Clarke).

So, control and suppression and all that goes with this state Anxiety and fear that something will happen and they will have to react and show their true feelings Desire for solitude for much the same reasons Feel superior Place a lot of value on love and defending others The child behaves like an adult (false age) - very serious, theorises, can be sophisticated and look much older than their age Most emotions are hidden and controlled Can't tolerate change or contradiction Reasoning comes before emotions Loquacious (to avoid settling on one subject??) and also taciturn to also avoid giving too much away Can be malicious (the devil) - many physical symptoms can be violent Fighting and quarrelsome - kids will pick fights and get others into trouble Periodicity is marked - another form of control - every 2 weeks or yearly Delusion that distant objects look too large (false vision) Delusion they have committed a crime (Vrijlandt) + Sankaran talks about the theme of police Can't comprehend what you are saying to them because they aren't relating to you - the control is getting out of hand.

When you control or suppress too much the result is everything begins to go out of control, you lose touch.

Jan Scholten says "Eventually they lose touch with their feelings and the emotions start to lead their own life, coming to the surface at strange and unexpected moments.
This makes them feel uncomfortable, they don't understand what is happening to them and then don't know how to react anymore."

From the suppression you eventually get restlessness, anger, irritability and intense pain coming through.

The main physical symptoms are difficult vision coughs = dry or loose, hacking and violent - has to hold the head or put arms on thighs redness and burning violent thirst constipation scanty menses violent hiccough cracking in the vertebrae rheumatic pains in elbows, neck and knees sense of heaviness in the limbs + trembling itching all over the body especially round the neck sleepless and restless << midnight to 4 am >>> open air.
