Mrs. P.B was about thirty-four at that time. She had
a long history of health problems. As a child she used to have a lot of
pus discharge from both the ears which stopped after the tail of a snake
was inserted into the ears and twisted. This was done on the advice of
the local villagers. The pus discharge did stop but she slowly developed
pulmonary tuberculosis. She
suffered from constant fevers, cough and chest congestion.
She was treated with Streptomycin for over a year. She became
very emaciated and lost all muscular tone. This resulted in a prolapse
of the uterus. Every month her periods would put her through virtual
hell with intense pain, fever and occasional inflammation of the glands
on the neck, which remained nodular and indurated even when she had no
acute suffering.
She went through
for a vaginal hysterectomy and tissue reformation on the assurance of
the gynecologist that her recurring menstrual problem would solve once
for all. For seven days, all went well. From the eighth day she started
getting fever and was administered some tablets to suppress the fever.
But she started having vaginal puss discharge, which increased to about
half a liter a day. By the twelfth day everybody was disturbed and the
surgeon took her to a round of specialists who wanted to keep her under
observation with intravenous chloramphenicol injections.
She approached me for treatment and I advised her to
come home from the hospital. The fever rose to 103 deg. F and the pus
discharge continued. It was the month of April. In spite of the high
body temperature she would complain if the curtains were drawn to keep
the heat and glare out. She wanted the fan running full and all windows
open, day or night. She was cheerful and no other suffering symptom was
present. This is where homeopathy opens the closed doors for human
misery. Carbo Veg. 30 was given three times in one day and next morning
the wonder happened. Her fever came to normal and the pus discharge came
down to a trickle. Another day on Carbo Veg, she was completely normal.
However,
a week later there was a relapse of the fever.
With the tubercular background, I decided on a single dose of
Aviare 30, which restored lasting normalcy.
Aviare was chosen, as I was not sure whether she would be able to
tolerate a medicine like Bacillinum with her emaciated and depleted
condition. Later she was kept on occasional doses of Bacillinum and Mrs.
P.B has never had any of those tubercular symptoms again. This is the
story about four decades earlier
